Otoplasty Photo Gallery (Cosmetic Ear Reshaping)
The Otoplasty Photo Gallery images include a wide-range of cosmetic ear conditions including lop-ear deformity, cup-ear deformity, and many types of helical (helix) and lobule deformities. He believes in a no cartilage-cutting technique in the helix for protruding lop ears to ensure the safest, long-term results, i.e., so that no edge of cut cartilage becomes visible over time. However, Dr. Lam does reduce ear cartilage in the concha when reducing the ear that has a cup deformity and believes this is an essential part of the procedure. He has also performed extensive reconstruction of the ear on cancer and trauma patients. However, he does not perform any microtia repairs (babies born with no ear or a stub of an ear) since this requires a complex surgical and hospital team approach that is not offered at his clinic. A large percentage of his otoplasty patients fly in for his work given his level of specialty with the ear and related deformities and conditions.
